In 1937 Gio Ponti presents a walnut wardrobe with the special "rigato" woodwork in Paris at the Exposition International Des Arts and Tecnique.
Afterwards, Ponti will use this "rigato" design for important orders and furnishings -of wood, both in walnut and in oak- both vertically and horizontally.
